Bush Fire is located approximately 13 kilometers from the main electrical line and UFRL was told that it would cost $130,000 to be connected. In 2006, funds from Bush Fire Project enabled the purchase of a generator, which will supply power to the entire Bush Fire Compound.

A borehole has brought a new water source to Bush Fire. Surface contamination is a problem, however, because of its shallow depth. Water tanks, which collect rainwater from the roofs of buildings, are the cleaner source, however, storage space is limited. Tanks can fill in 30 minutes time during a heavy rain so much is lost as a result of tank size. One potential solution being considered is a concrete lined and covered cistern that will hold much larger amounts of rainwater.

In early 2007, this 4-wheel drive truck was purchased with funds from Bush Fire Project. This vehicle will facilitate farm work and traveling with the poor road conditions. The shipping container in the background arrived from Australia in April 2007. It contained clothing, household and medical supplies, tools and other useful items.

This is a piece of land owned by Bush Fire but separate from the main Bush Fire compound. It is the site where the cattle will be relocated in order to create separation of people and livestock. In the background is a eucalyptus grove that is on the same property. These trees will provide construction materials for new buildings. Additional trees will be planted on this property.
